Optiven Foundation Marks International Day for People Living with Disabilities, Reaffirms Commitment to Inclusion and Empowerment

The Optiven Foundation has joined the global community in marking the International Day for People Living with Disabilities, underscoring its renewed commitment to fostering inclusive, accessible, and empowered communities across Kenya.

In alignment with this year’s theme, “Fostering Disability-Inclusive Societies for Advancing Social Progress,” the Foundation reiterated its dedication to breaking systemic barriers and creating opportunities for persons living with disabilities to participate fully and with dignity in society.

In a statement, the Foundation emphasized that its long-standing programmes continue to support individuals and families living with disability through partnerships, advocacy, and community-driven interventions. It also encouraged Kenyans, corporate partners, and civil society to take deliberate steps toward building a nation where every person is valued and supported.

“We believe that inclusion is not an event but a continuous responsibility,” the Optiven Foundation team noted. “By working together, we can build a future where every person—regardless of ability—belongs and has the opportunity to succeed.”

The Foundation further called on well-wishers, friends, and stakeholders to join hands in initiatives that bring hope and practical support to people living with disabilities. It also invited the public to watch a special message released in commemoration of the day via its official YouTube channel.

This year’s observance comes at a time when the Optiven Foundation continues to thrive under the visionary leadership of Dr. George Wachiuri, CEO of Optiven Group. His commitment to community empowerment and inclusive development has been pivotal in shaping transformative programmes that uplift vulnerable groups and drive sustainable social impact nationwide.
