Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya on Wednesday hosted former Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr. Fred Matiang’i at his office for a courtesy call that underscored shared values of leadership, integrity, and public service.

Dr. Matiang’i was accompanied by United Opposition Head of Secretariat Mukhisa Kituyi and Kisii Senator Richard Onyonka. The meeting was described as warm and engaging, offering an opportunity for the leaders to reconnect and reflect on their time serving together at the Ministry of Interior and National Administration.

Speaking after the meeting, Governor Natembeya noted that the discussions focused on a common vision for a transformed, people-centric Kenya—one anchored on effective leadership, integrity, and genuine service to the people.

“It was truly encouraging to rekindle both the memories and the ideals that continue to guide our commitment to public service,” the Governor said. “Our shared experiences in government remind us that principled leadership and accountability remain central to delivering meaningful change for Kenyans.”

The leaders exchanged views on national development, governance reforms, and the importance of placing citizens at the heart of policy and service delivery. Governor Natembeya emphasized that such engagements are vital in strengthening collaboration and renewing commitment to the values that underpin public trust.

The courtesy call reaffirmed a collective resolve to advance good governance and work toward a united, prosperous Kenya driven by integrity and service.
