Murkomen Pays Tribute to Mzee Michael Kigen Komen at Trans Nzoia Funeral

 


 Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration Kipchumba Murkomen on Saturday joined family members, friends, neighbours, and leaders at the funeral service of the late Mzee Michael Kigen Komen, held in Karara, Trans Nzoia County.

Speaking during the service, CS Murkomen eulogised Mzee Komen as a devoted parent and respected elder whose life left a lasting impact on his family and community. He noted that the late Mzee Komen’s values of humility, hard work, and integrity were clearly reflected in the lives of his children.

“Mzee Komen raised his family with strong values that continue to inspire many of us. His legacy lives on through his children and the positive contribution they are making to our nation,” Murkomen said.

The Interior CS extended his condolences to Eng. John Tanui, the Principal Secretary for ICT and the Digital Economy, who is a son of the late Mzee Komen, describing him as a diligent public servant whose leadership reflects the firm foundation laid by his father.

Murkomen urged parents across the country to draw lessons from Mzee Komen’s life, emphasizing the critical role of family in shaping responsible citizens and future leaders.

“May the life and legacy of Mzee Michael Kigen Komen be a shining light that guides his family and all of us to be better parents, raising a generation that will lift our country to greater heights,” he said.

Local leaders and residents who attended the funeral echoed Murkomen’s sentiments, remembering Mzee Komen as a peaceful, wise, and community-minded elder who played a quiet but meaningful role in the development of the area.

Mzee Michael Kigen Komen is survived by his children, grandchildren, and extended family.
