Murkomen Mourns Supreme Court Judge Mohammed Ibrahim
Cabinet Secretary for Interior and National Administration Kipchumba Murkomen has expressed deep sorrow following the passing of Hon. Justice Mohammed Ibrahim, a Judge of the Supreme Court of Kenya and a Commissioner of the Judicial Service Commission (JSC).
In a heartfelt tribute, Murkomen described Justice Ibrahim as a towering figure in Kenya’s legal landscape whose long and distinguished career spanned private practice and decades of service on the bench.
“His passing calls forth both a celebration of a life of immense impact and a profound reflection on the loss our country has suffered,” Murkomen said.
He praised Justice Ibrahim’s unwavering commitment to human rights, social justice and constitutionalism, noting that his life and career stood as a lesson in selflessness, hard work and integrity.
Murkomen singled out Justice Ibrahim’s leadership as Chairperson of the Judiciary Committee on Elections, as well as his jurisprudence on presidential electoral disputes and constitutional interpretation, saying these contributions will continue to shape Kenya’s legal framework for generations.
“His opinions and decisions have left an indelible mark on our jurisprudence and strengthened the rule of law in our Republic,” he added.
The Interior CS extended his deepest condolences to Justice Ibrahim’s family, friends, colleagues in the Judiciary and the wider legal fraternity during what he termed “a time of immense grief.”
“Fare thee well, Hon. Ibrahim,” Murkomen concluded.
