Minority Affairs Secretary Calls for Hope, Inclusion in New Year Message
The Secretary of the Minority and Marginalized Affairs Unit at the Executive Office of the President, Josephat Lowoi, has issued a message of hope, solidarity, and inclusion to minorities and marginalized communities as the country ushers in the New Year 2026.
In his New Year statement, Lowoi emphasized that the voices, stories, and aspirations of minorities and marginalized groups matter, noting that their resilience and courage have played a critical role in shaping social change and expanding opportunities for future generations.
“As we step into a new year, may hope walk beside you—steady, resilient, and bright,” he said. “Even when the path has been uneven, your strength has shaped change, and your courage has opened doors.”
Lowoi called on the nation to ensure that 2026 becomes a year marked by safety, opportunity, and dignity for communities that have historically faced exclusion and discrimination. He stressed the importance of listening, fairness, and shared humanity in advancing inclusive development.
“Progress must not only be measured by economic growth, but also by compassion and how we treat the most vulnerable among us,” he noted.
The Secretary reaffirmed the government’s commitment to policies and programs that promote equity, protect minority rights, and expand access to opportunities across all sectors of society.
He concluded by wishing all Kenyans a New Year filled with unity and optimism, saying, “You belong, you are valued, and the future is better because you are in it. Here’s to a new year of solidarity, possibility, and brighter days ahead. Happy New Year 2026.”
