KSG Director General Prof. Nura Mohamed Reflects on 2025 and Charts a Bold Path for 2026

As the curtains close on 2025, Director General of the Kenya School of Government (KSG), Prof. Nura Mohamed, led the KSG family in end-of-year celebrations, joining staff physically at the Matuga Campus and virtually across all campuses nationwide.

The gathering served as a powerful reminder that institutions such as KSG do not measure time by calendars alone, but by the quality of minds shaped and the ethics reinforced.

Prof. Nura noted that KSG occupies a unique and critical space in Kenya’s governance architecture — a place where power is examined before it is exercised, and where public leadership is stripped of illusion and restored to its true meaning: service.

Reflecting on the year’s milestones, he highlighted a key achievement on December 5, when KSG received an award from the Office of the Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service in recognition of excellence in leadership training. He emphasized that the honor belongs to the entire KSG fraternity — from academic staff to administrators — whose dedication continues to position the institution as an architect of the moral infrastructure of the public service.

Looking ahead to 2026, Prof. Nura challenged the institution to focus on the future with clarity and courage.

> “Where we are going is much bigger than where we have been. We must drive forward looking through the windshield, not the rearview mirror,” he said.

He reaffirmed KSG’s commitment to being intellectually fearless, ethically clear, and relentlessly relevant in the year ahead.

Prof. Nura concluded by thanking the KSG community for its devotion and reaffirming the institution’s partnership with citizens and stakeholders in building a governance culture rooted in integrity, impact, and service.

He wished all a happy and prosperous New Year, calling on Kenyans to return refreshed, renewed, and ready to serve.
