Kapteldon Sub-County Hospital Set for Major Boost as Governor Bii Commissions X-Ray Unit
Kapteldon Sub-County Hospital is poised for a significant upgrade in healthcare service delivery as Uasin Gishu Governor Dr Jonathan Bii Chelilim prepares to officially commission a fully equipped X-ray unit at the facility.
The new diagnostic unit is expected to greatly enhance healthcare services in Kapseret Sub-County by improving access to timely, accurate, and affordable imaging services. Once operational, the X-ray facility will spare patients the burden of travelling long distances to referral hospitals, reducing both financial costs and delays in diagnosis and treatment.
County health officials have described the investment as a major milestone in strengthening grassroots healthcare. They noted that the X-ray unit will play a critical role in early disease detection, accurate clinical decision-making, and improved emergency response, particularly for accident victims, expectant mothers, and patients with chronic conditions.
“The commissioning of this unit marks a major step toward decentralizing essential diagnostic services,” said a senior county health official. “It will not only improve patient outcomes at the sub-county level but also help decongest major referral hospitals.”
Residents of Kapteldon have welcomed the development, terming it a long-awaited intervention that will transform healthcare delivery in the area. Many expressed optimism that the facility will improve service efficiency and enhance confidence in public health institutions.
The upcoming launch underscores the county government’s commitment to investing in modern medical equipment, upgrading health infrastructure, and ensuring equitable access to quality healthcare across all sub-counties.
With the commissioning of the X-ray unit, Kapteldon Sub-County Hospital is set to usher in a new era of enhanced diagnostic capacity, reaffirming Uasin Gishu County’s people-centred healthcare agenda under the leadership of Governor Dr Jonathan Bii Chelilim.
