Kapcherop Community Rallies Behind Afisaa Junior at Grand Music Launch

 Residents of Kapcherop and the wider Marakwet West constituency on Saturday turned out in large numbers to support renowned local musician Afisaa Junior during his music launch held at the Kapcherop Grounds.

The event, which attracted hundreds of fans, community members, and leaders, was marked by song, dance, and celebrations in honour of the artist, who has risen to national recognition through his music. The strong turnout reflected the community’s pride in Afisaa Junior, widely known as Afisaa, for his role in showcasing Marakwet West on the national music scene.

Speaking during the event, Marakwet West Member of Parliament Hon. Timothy Kipchumba Toroitich praised the community for standing with one of their own and commended the musician for using his talent to promote local culture.

“Afisaa Junior has put Marakwet West on the national map through music. His journey is an inspiration to many young people, and for him, the sky can only be the upper limit,” the MP said.

Residents described the launch as a moment of unity and celebration, noting that the success of the event demonstrated the power of community support in nurturing local talent. Youth in attendance said Afisaa’s success had motivated them to pursue their own ambitions with confidence.

Hon. Toroitich thanked the Kapcherop community and residents of Marakwet West for the warm reception and their continued support for arts and culture within the constituency. He also wished the musician success as he advances his career.

The MP concluded by congratulating Afisaa Junior on the milestone and expressed optimism that the artist would continue to raise the profile of Marakwet West both nationally and beyond.
