Hon. Lodeya Lowoi Commends President Ruto for Elevating Minorities and Marginalised Communities Agenda

Hon. Josphat Lodeya Lowoi, OGW, the Secretary of the Minorities and Marginalised Communities Affairs Unit in the Executive Office of the President, has praised President William Samoei Ruto for what he termed wise, inclusive, and forward-looking leadership in advancing the rights and welfare of minorities and marginalised communities.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, Hon. Lowoi expressed profound gratitude to the Head of State for the decision to elevate the minorities and marginalised communities docket to the highest level of national attention by anchoring it as a full directorate within the Office of the President.

“This bold and visionary step is a powerful affirmation that every Kenyan matters,” Hon. Lowoi said. “By placing this mandate at the heart of the Executive, His Excellency has given voice to communities that for far too long remained at the periphery of national decision-making.”

He noted that the move has ensured that the concerns and aspirations of minority, indigenous, and marginalised communities are now directly represented at the national table where key policies and development priorities are determined.

Hon. Lowoi said President Ruto’s approach reflects the true spirit of the Constitution, which upholds equity, inclusion, and shared prosperity as core national values. He added that strengthening institutional focus on minorities and marginalised communities demonstrates a commitment to people-centered development and the principle that no community should be left behind.

“The President’s leadership underscores the belief that sustainable development must be inclusive and responsive to the needs of all Kenyans, regardless of their numbers or geographic location,” he said.

On behalf of the communities served by the unit, Hon. Lowoi thanked President Ruto for his commitment, courage, and compassion, and reaffirmed their readiness to support the agenda.

“We stand prepared to work hand in hand with His Excellency and all stakeholders in building a more just, inclusive, and united Kenya,” he said.

The elevation of the Minorities and Marginalised Communities Affairs Unit is expected to enhance coordination, policy implementation, and advocacy aimed at improving the social, economic, and political wellbeing of historically disadvantaged communities across the country.
