Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua Mourns Hon. Cyrus Jirongo

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has expressed deep sorrow following the death of former Cabinet Minister and ex-Lugari Member of Parliament, Hon. Cyrus Jirongo, who passed on after a tragic road accident along the Nairobi–Nakuru Highway.

In a condolence message, Gachagua described Hon. Jirongo as a dedicated public servant who devoted much of his life to the service of the people of Lugari Constituency and the nation at large.

“It is with deep pain that I have learnt of the passing on of former Cabinet Minister and ex-Lugari MP Hon. Cyrus Jirongo following a tragic road accident. As Lugari MP from 1997 to 2002 and again from 2007 to 2013, Hon. Jirongo served his constituents with commitment and dedication,” Gachagua said.

He noted that Jirongo’s contribution to leadership in Western Kenya and national politics would be remembered for years to come, adding that his death is a great loss to the region and the country.

The former Deputy President conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family, friends, the people of Lugari, Western Kenya, and the entire nation during this difficult time.

“I pass my deepest sympathies to his family, friends, the people of Lugari and Western Kenya, and the whole nation as we mourn Hon. Cyrus Jirongo. May the Almighty God rest his soul in eternal peace, and may perpetual light shine upon him forever,” he said.

Hon. Jirongo’s passing has prompted an outpouring of grief and tributes from leaders and citizens across the country, all remembering him as a committed leader and servant of the people.
