DCI Officer Earns PhD, Setting New Standard for Excellence in Policing


The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) is celebrating a landmark achievement within its ranks as Inspector of Police Dr. Polo Otieno Daniel has been awarded a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Business Management, specializing in Strategic Management, by Moi University. The award was conferred during the university’s 48th Graduation Ceremony on 18th December 2025.

Dr. Otieno, who is currently serving at the Regional Criminal Investigations Officer (RCIO) office in Eastern, Embu, embarked on his doctoral journey at the Moi University Annexe Campus in Eldoret. Through dedication, discipline, and an unwavering pursuit of knowledge, he successfully completed the rigorous program, demonstrating that academic excellence can complement professional policing.

This achievement builds on Dr. Otieno’s prior academic accomplishments, including a Master’s Degree in Strategic Management from the University of Eldoret.
