Chepsaita Cross Country Run Marks Third Edition With Strong Community Spirit

The third edition of the Chepsaita Cross Country Run was held on Saturday, attracting hundreds of athletes and spectators in an event widely praised for its growing influence on community development and youth empowerment.

Organizers hailed this year’s run as one of the most successful since the festival’s inception, drawing participants from across the North Rift and reaffirming the region’s reputation as a hub for athletic talent.

Senator Jackson Mandago congratulated all winners and participants, emphasizing the event’s role in uniting communities and supporting educational initiatives.

He credited Patron Farouk Kibet for his continued involvement, noting that his support has been central to the festival’s expansion and impact.

“Through Patron Farouk Kibet, this festival continues to unite communities and power dreams. Running for education is more than a theme—it is a commitment to giving our young people the tools they need to succeed,” Mandago said.

The Senator added that grassroots sporting events such as the Chepsaita Run help identify and nurture emerging athletes while promoting healthy lifestyles and strengthening social ties.

He also reaffirmed his commitment to supporting programs that empower youth through sports and education within Uasin Gishu and the larger North Rift region.

“Well done to the organizers, volunteers, and the entire Chepsaita community for delivering another successful event. Your efforts continue to shape a brighter and more united future,” he said.

The Chepsaita Cross Country Run, now in its third year, has quickly established itself as a key event on the local athletics calendar, with expectations of even larger participation in future editions.
