Residents of several villages in Ndaragwa Constituency have welcomed the successful connection of electricity, a development expected to boost growth and improve living standards in the region.

In Nairobi Village, Leshau Pondo Ward, and Ihiga Village in Ndaragwa Central Ward, over 150 homesteads were connected to the national grid, bringing light to areas that had remained in darkness for years.

The initiative, commissioned at Ndogino Village, was praised by Ndaragwa MP George Gachagua, who pledged to ensure more households are connected and noted that electrical engineers will optimise every transformer to reach as many homes as possible.

Residents highlighted that electricity is essential in the digital era and will stimulate local economic activities, particularly in agriculture. John Kamu, a local resident, said, “This connection will transform our daily lives and boost local development.”

The project underscores the government’s commitment to expanding access to essential services and improving the quality of life for communities in Ndaragwa Constituency.
