Gachagua hails Kenga’s strong Magarani showing — DCP eyes Coast in 2027 push
Former Deputy President and DCP party leader Rigathi Gachagua has congratulated Stanley Karissa Kenga for an outstanding performance in Magarani, calling the results a major statement for DCP’s national ambitions.
“I want to extend my heartfelt congratulations to Hon. Stanley Karissa Kenga for a strong showing in Magarani,” Gachagua said in a statement Friday. “For a new party with no prior footprint in the Coast region, a credible second place is more than acceptable — it is a breakthrough.”
Gachagua noted that the result offers DCP “a first credible entry into the Coast.” He said the Magarani performance demonstrates that DCP’s message — of listening to citizens and putting development before patronage — resonates beyond its traditional strongholds.
In a clear signal of intent, Gachagua announced that DCP will launch a concerted drive over the holiday season to strengthen its presence along the Kenyan coast: “Over the next few weeks I will be in the Coast to meet potential aspirants and establish party offices. Our ambition is to build structures, recruit dedicated leaders, and prepare for 2027.”
He described Stanley Kenga’s showing as “proof that DCP belongs everywhere in Kenya — from Mt. Kenya to the Coast, from Nairobi to the North.”
The party leader reiterated DCP’s founding slogan, “Skiza Wakenya — Work and Justice,” saying the performance in Magarani vindicates DCP’s inclusive, citizen-centred approach.
“Today we are proud of you, Stanley. You have opened a door for us in Magarani — and indeed for DCP in the Coast. This is just the beginning,” he stated.
