CS Murkomen Leads Mourners in Honouring NTSA Director Richie Mweka Munyao

Cabinet Secretary for Roads and Transport, Kipchumba Murkomen, on Friday joined family, friends and colleagues in Nanyuki to bid a final farewell to the late Richie Mweka Munyao, a National Transport and Safety Authority (NTSA) Director who passed away earlier this week.

Speaking during the burial ceremony, CS Murkomen described Richie as “a son, a father, a friend, and a man whose presence left an energizing mark everywhere he went.”

Murkomen reflected on Richie’s tenure at NTSA, noting that he served with “calm authority, thoughtful judgment and principled leadership.” He added that Richie’s contributions to the transport and road safety sector were marked by dedication and a strong sense of responsibility.

“His journey, though far too short, was rich with meaning, connection and impact,” Murkomen said. “His legacy now lives in the memories he built, the hearts he touched, and the son he leaves behind.”

The CS extended his deepest condolences to Richie’s parents, Michael and Evelyn Munyao, and the entire family, assuring them of continued prayers and support.

“In grief, we choose to celebrate the gift of his life,” he said. “May Richie’s soul rest in eternal peace.”

Richie Mweka Munyao was remembered as a committed public servant and a warm personality whose influence resonated widely both within and beyond his professional circles.
