Young Environmentalist Sasha Chepkoech Ng’eny Presents Her Book to PS Treasury Dr. Chris Kiptoo

The Principal Secretary for the National Treasury and Economic Planning, Dr. Chris Kiptoo, on Friday hosted young environmentalist Miss Sasha Chepkoech Ng’eny, who paid him a courtesy visit alongside her parents to present her newly published book titled “Sasha: A Young Voice for a Greener World.”

At only a young age, Sasha has emerged as one of Kenya’s most promising environmental advocates. She has spearheaded numerous tree-planting initiatives and is credited with planting thousands of trees across various parts of the country. Her efforts have not only contributed to environmental restoration but have also inspired many young people to take an active role in protecting the planet.

Speaking during the meeting at Treasury Building, Dr. Kiptoo lauded Sasha for her exceptional dedication to environmental conservation, describing her as a role model for her generation.

“Sasha’s passion and commitment to protecting the environment are truly inspiring. At such a young age, she has already shown that leadership in climate action knows no age or boundaries,” said Dr. Kiptoo. “Her work resonates strongly with the government’s agenda to promote sustainable development and build a greener, more resilient Kenya.”

Dr. Kiptoo noted that the government, through the National Treasury, continues to prioritize financing for environmental and climate initiatives in line with the Climate Change (Amendment) Act 2023 and the Vision 2030 goals. He emphasized that youth engagement in climate action is vital for ensuring long-term sustainability.

“Young people like Sasha are the heartbeat of Kenya’s green future,” he added. “Their voices and actions amplify the message that every Kenyan can make a difference.”

In her remarks, Sasha expressed gratitude for the opportunity to share her book with the Principal Secretary and reiterated her commitment to continue championing environmental conservation.“My dream is to see a greener, cleaner Kenya where every child plants a tree and takes care of nature,” she said. “I believe that small actions, when multiplied by millions, can change the world.”

Sasha’s book, “Sasha: A Young Voice for a Greener World,” highlights her journey as a young environmentalist and seeks to inspire children and adults alike to take responsibility for the environment through practical actions such as tree planting and waste management.
