VIDEO:Murkomen: UDA Will Partner With ODM to Fulfill Raila Odinga’s Vision for Kenya
Interior Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen has paid tribute to former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, describing him as a statesman who left the Broad-based Government “strong and united.”
In a statement released on Sunday, Murkomen lauded Odinga’s decades of service and commitment to national unity, saying the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) government will work closely with the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) to realize the aspirations he held for the country.
“The former Prime Minister Raila Odinga left the Broad-based Government strong. UDA will work with ODM to achieve what he dreamt for the country,” Murkomen said.
The CS emphasized that political competition should not divide Kenyans, adding that the late leader’s vision of inclusivity and economic transformation remains relevant today.
“This is the moment for all leaders to come together and build on the foundation he laid. Our focus must be on service delivery, unity, and prosperity for every Kenyan,” he added.
Murkomen further reiterated the government’s commitment to honoring Odinga’s legacy through continued reforms in governance, infrastructure, and youth empowerment.
He called upon political leaders across the divide to emulate Odinga’s dedication to democracy, dialogue, and nation-building.
“Kenya’s progress depends on collaboration, not confrontation. We owe it to his memory to move forward as one nation,” Murkomen concluded.
