Uasin Gishu County Service Centre Sets National Benchmark in Efficiency and Business Friendliness
Uasin Gishu County has once again demonstrated its leadership in public service innovation and economic competitiveness, following its recognition as Kenya’s Most Business-Friendly County in the 2025 County Business and Service Index (CBSI) Report by VIFFA Consult.
Governor Jonathan Bii hailed the milestone as a testament to the County’s commitment to transparency, citizen-centered service delivery, and a thriving business environment.
“Our County Service Centre has become a model of efficiency and innovation, setting new standards in transparent and citizen-centered service delivery,” said Governor Bii. “The recognition affirms the impact of our Centre in creating a seamless and enabling environment for businesses.”
The Uasin Gishu County Service Centre has earned praise for reducing service turnaround times to under five minutes at its One-Stop Desk — a reform that has significantly boosted efficiency and increased the county’s own-source revenue.
Governor Bii noted that these gains are part of a broader strategy to enhance service delivery and attract investment through fair rates, faster services, and targeted incentives for entrepreneurs.
“We are making it even easier for businesses to grow,” the Governor added. “Our focus is on efficiency, fairness, and innovation to ensure Uasin Gishu remains the business hub of choice in Kenya and beyond.”
He commended the Service Centre and the County Trade team for their dedication and outstanding performance, emphasizing that the recognition reflects the collective effort of county staff and the support of the business community.
The CBSI Report, conducted annually by VIFFA Consult, evaluates counties on factors such as business environment, public service delivery, and investment facilitation. Uasin Gishu’s top ranking positions it as a benchmark for other devolved units striving to streamline services and promote private sector growth.
