Tourism CS Rebecca Miano Reaffirms Government’s Commitment to Wildlife Conservation

 



Nairobi, Kenya – The Cabinet Secretary for Tourism and Wildlife, Hon. Rebecca Miano, EGH, has reaffirmed the Government’s commitment to strengthening wildlife conservation and management across the country.


Speaking this morning, CS Miano noted that the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife, through strategic initiatives, continues to prioritize wildlife conservation by fostering strong partnerships, promoting advanced research, and supporting community-based conservation models.


She further emphasized the importance of leveraging technology to safeguard Kenya’s unique and diverse wildlife heritage.


“We are tracking our progress on this journey with a renewed commitment to ensure that Kenya remains a global leader in wildlife protection, sustainable tourism, and biodiversity conservation,” said CS Miano.


The Cabinet Secretary underscored that collaboration and research remain central pillars in achieving a sustainable future for Kenya’s ecosystems.


The Ministry continues to work closely with key partners, including the Wildlife Research and Training Institute (WRTI) and the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS), to promote evidence-based conservation efforts that balance environmental protection with community livelihoods.
