President Ruto Hands Over Keys to New Homeowners at Elburgon Affordable Housing Estate

President Dr. William Samoei Ruto today handed over keys to the proud new owners of the 220-unit Elburgon Affordable Housing Estate in Molo, Nakuru County — marking yet another milestone in the Government’s commitment to providing decent, modern, and affordable homes for all Kenyans.

The vibrant ceremony was filled with joy and emotion as families, many owning a home for the first time, received their keys from the Head of State. Smiles, tears, and songs of gratitude filled the air, capturing the human spirit behind the Government’s ambitious Affordable Housing Programme.

“This project is not just about buildings — it is about people, dreams, and dignity,” President Ruto said. “Today, we are giving families more than a house; we are giving them hope, opportunity, and a place to call home.”

The Elburgon Estate, which features modern two- and three-bedroom units, was developed under the Government’s Affordable Housing Programme, which aims to make homeownership accessible to ordinary Kenyans through flexible financing and local job creation.

The President emphasized that the initiative goes beyond shelter — it’s about restoring the pride and security that come with owning a home, regardless of one’s background or income level.

“Every Kenyan deserves to experience the peace of mind that comes from knowing your children will grow up under your own roof,” he said. “This is the Kenya we are building — one where hard work and faith open the door to opportunity.”

President Ruto also noted that housing projects like Elburgon are driving local economies, creating thousands of jobs for artisans, suppliers, and youth, while transforming towns into thriving economic hubs.

The beneficiaries, many of them young families and low-income earners, expressed deep appreciation for the initiative. One mother, overwhelmed with emotion, said: “I never thought I would own a home. Today, the President made that dream come true.”

The President reaffirmed his administration’s plan to expand similar developments across all 47 counties as part of the Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda (BETA), ensuring that every Kenyan has access to decent and dignified living conditions.

“This is more than an estate — it is a symbol of what we can achieve when we work together,” he concluded. “A new Kenya is being built, one key, one family, one home at a time.”eowners)?
