Government Commences Nationwide Physical Validation Exercise for NYOTA Project Business Support Component

The Government of Kenya, through the Ministry of Cooperatives and MSME Development, has today launched the nationwide Physical Validation Exercise for the Business Support Component of the NYOTA Project. The exercise is taking place concurrently across all 290 constituency headquarters in the country.

Speaking during the launch, Deputy Government Spokesperson Mwanaisha Chidzuga joined the Cabinet Secretary for Cooperatives and MSME Development, Hon. FCPA Dr. Wycliffe Ambetsa Oparanya, in outlining the Government’s commitment to ensuring a transparent and inclusive validation process.

This important exercise seeks to verify the authenticity and eligibility of applicants, ensuring that only genuine and qualified youth are selected to benefit from the transformative NYOTA Project.

“The validation exercise is a critical step in upholding integrity and accountability in the implementation of this youth empowerment program. It ensures that the opportunities reach those they are truly intended for — the enterprising young people driving Kenya’s economic future,” said Ms. Chidzuga.

Each constituency has established validation centres equipped with ward-based breakout stations to enhance accessibility, efficiency, and transparency. Applicants have been advised to carry their National Identification Cards, while Persons with Disabilities are required to present their disability identification cards for verification.

The NYOTA Project, a flagship Government of Kenya initiative funded by the World Bank, aims to empower youth and MSMEs through financial support, business training, and enterprise development opportunities.

Ms. Chidzuga further encouraged all applicants to actively participate in the validation process, emphasizing the project’s role in stimulating entrepreneurship, creating employment, and advancing inclusive economic growth across the nation.

“We urge all applicants to present themselves at their respective constituency headquarters and take part in this vital step toward empowering youth, strengthening enterprises, and transforming livelihoods,” she added.
