Education CS Migos Ogamba Assesses Renovation Progress at Litein Boys High School Ahead of KCSE Exams
Education Cabinet Secretary Migos Ogamba has assured that ongoing renovations at Litein Boys High School in Kericho County are on track to ensure that candidates sitting for the upcoming Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations do so in a safe and conducive environment.
Speaking during a visit to the institution on Monday, CS Ogamba noted that the school is among those affected by acts of unrest and arson, which led to the destruction of key facilities earlier in the year. He commended the swift response by education officials, the school management, and local leaders in restoring normalcy and ensuring learning continues uninterrupted.
“The government remains committed to ensuring that every candidate across the country sits their examinations in a peaceful and supportive environment. The ongoing renovations at Litein Boys High School are part of that commitment,” said CS Ogamba.
The Cabinet Secretary emphasized the Ministry’s collaboration with all education stakeholders — including parents, teachers, and learners — to uphold discipline, respect for others, and care for property in schools. He expressed concern over the rising cases of student unrest and urged learners to embrace dialogue and peaceful means of expressing their grievances.
“We must collectively cultivate a culture of responsibility and mutual respect within our learning institutions. Discipline and integrity are essential values that must guide our students both in and out of the classroom,” he added.
CS Ogamba further reaffirmed the Ministry’s readiness for the national examinations, saying all necessary logistical and safety measures are in place to guarantee a smooth exercise across the country.
The visit is part of the Ministry’s broader initiative to monitor the state of preparedness in schools affected
