Vihiga Boys High School Principal, Albert Masiolo, has expressed heartfelt gratitude to the school’s Director of Games and the entire games department for recognizing his commitment to the school’s sporting activities.
Speaking after receiving a special token of appreciation, Mr. Masiolo said the recognition came as both a surprise and a great honor. He revealed that the department presented him with a portable chair to ensure he remains comfortable while attending the school’s matches, including friendly encounters.
“I sincerely thank our Director of Games and the entire games department for this sweet reward and recognition. It means a lot to me as fan number one of our teams. I have always enjoyed being there to cheer on our boys in every match, and this gesture motivates me even more,” he said.
The Principal has been a familiar figure at both competitive fixtures and friendly matches, where his presence has served as a source of morale and encouragement for the students. The portable chair, according to the games department, symbolizes their appreciation for his consistent support and unwavering dedication to the school’s sporting culture.
Teachers and students alike lauded the gesture, noting that the principal’s active involvement has played a vital role in boosting the confidence and performance of the school’s teams.
“This recognition is not just about the chair, but about celebrating leadership that walks with the students beyond classrooms and exams. Mr. Masiolo has shown us that sports are an important part of learning and growth,” one student noted.
In fact, even as he received the recognition, Mr. Masiolo was already at Mukumu Boys, cheering on Vihiga Boys’ rugby 15s team – the 2025 National Champions – as they played friendlies against Mukumu Boys, Chavakali High, and Senende.
The recognition reaffirms Vihiga Boys High School’s commitment to nurturing both academic and extracurricular excellence.
