DP Kindiki on Harambee Stars’ CHAN Exit: “It Is Okay, It Is Alright — Harambee Stars Remain Authentically Faya!”

Deputy President Kithure Kindiki has offered words of encouragement and national pride following the Harambee Stars' narrow elimination from the Pamoja CHAN 2025 tournament, calling on Kenyans to celebrate the team’s passion, progress, and patriotic spirit.

In a heartfelt message shared shortly after Kenya’s penalty shootout defeat to Madagascar in the quarter-finals, DP Kindiki said the nation must come to terms with the loss, but not let go of the pride and unity that the team has inspired across the country.

“It is okay, it is alright. We are coming to terms with it,” the Deputy President said. “Football has its ups and downs — but in every moment, our boys stood tall, fought hard, and gave us something bigger than a result: hope.”

While Kenya’s campaign ended in heartbreak, Kindiki emphasised that the Harambee Stars played with heart, character, and the unmistakable Kenyan flair.

“Let it be known — Harambee Stars remains authentically Faya! They lit up this tournament. From the first whistle to the final kick, they carried the flag with pride, with courage, and with swagger.”

The Deputy President praised the entire squad, technical bench, and fans for turning the Pamoja CHAN into a moment of national celebration.

“This was more than a tournament. It was a movement. Our people came out in their thousands to fill the stands, to chant, to believe. Kasarani roared not just with voices, but with dreams.”

DP Kindiki called on Kenyans to continue supporting the tournament through to its final stages, highlighting the significance of Kenya’s role as co-host of this historic East African edition.

“We may be out, but the spirit lives on. Let us continue showing the world what Kenyan hospitality and passion for sport looks like. The world is watching — and we are not done.”

Looking ahead, Kindiki joined President Ruto in reaffirming the government's commitment to football development and the road to the Africa Cup of Nations 2027, which Kenya will also co-host.

“This was a chapter. The book is still being written. We’re not just dreaming anymore — we’re building. Stronger foundations, better systems, and even greater ambitions.”

In closing, the Deputy President had a simple but powerful message to the players and the nation:

“Stand tall, Harambee Stars. The fire you’ve lit cannot be put out. You remain authentically Faya — and we remain proudly behind you, always.”
