Farouk Kibet: Empowering Youth and Women Key to Kenya’s Prosperity

Farouk Kibet, Personal Assistant to President William Ruto, has emphasized that youth and women empowerment remains central to the Kenya Kwanza administration’s vision for a more equitable and prosperous society.

Speaking during a high-profile Youth and Women Economic Empowerment forum held in Jomvu Constituency, Mombasa County, Kibet affirmed that empowering marginalized groups is key to unlocking potential, fostering self-reliance, and driving sustainable development.

“When we uplift our youth and women, we are laying the foundation for a better future — one rooted in equity, productivity, and shared prosperity,” Kibet said.

The event brought together senior government officials and leaders, including Deputy President Kithure Kindiki, National Assembly Speaker Hon. Moses Wetang’ula, CS Ali Hassan Joho, CS Salim Mvurya, Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah, and Jomvu MP Hon. Badi Twalib, among others.

The forum featured discussions and initiatives focused on expanding access to funding, entrepreneurship training, and skills development for young people and women across the region. Beneficiaries of government-backed programs under the Hustler Fund and other empowerment schemes shared success stories, with more pledges made to scale up support.

Kibet lauded the collaborative efforts of national and county governments, as well as the private sector, in championing inclusive economic participation.

“True empowerment is about creating the conditions for people to thrive on their own terms — through access to resources, skills, and opportunities,” he added.

The Jomvu event forms part of a broader series of nationwide engagements aimed at deepening grassroots economic transformation and promoting the Kenya Kwanza promise of bottom-up economic growth.
