Kisumu Attack on MP Osotsi Sparks Calls for Investigation

 


 Tensions have risen in Kisumu following an alleged attack on Godfrey Osotsi.

Babu Owino condemned the incident, describing it as “deeply troubling” and urging law enforcement to act swiftly. “We must allow investigative agencies to conduct thorough and impartial investigations. Anyone found culpable should face the full force of the law,” he said.

According to social media reports and unverified sources, several individuals have been mentioned in connection with the alleged attack, including Lucas Otieno Dogo, Tinga (from Manyatta/Nyalenda), Buda (from Nyalenda Western), Ronney (from Manyatta), Allan Owako (from Nyalenda), Kevin (from Buddies Nyalenda), Kalonje Carlos (from Buddies Nyalenda), Kleen Kwere, Atito, Boy Akoth, Brian Otoyo, Dube, Novi, Ras Okeyo, Sam Mollo, Benna Ziza, and Ronny.

Police have confirmed awareness of the incident and said inquiries are ongoing. “We are gathering information and will provide updates once investigations progress,” a regional police spokesperson stated.

Owino urged the public to avoid spreading unverified claims. “Speculation only inflames tensions. We must let the authorities do their work and ensure justice is served,” he added.

Civil society groups have also expressed concern, calling for restraint and respect for the rule of law as the investigation continues.
