Taita Taveta Governor Andrew Mwadime has expressed deep concern over a growing trend in the county where many beautiful Taita girls are being married off to suitors from other counties. According to the governor, this phenomenon is leaving behind fewer eligible girls within the county, and those remaining are often characterized as short and quarrelsome.
Speaking during a recent public event, H.E. Andrew Mwadime lamented the situation, emphasizing the social implications it poses for the local community. “We are losing some of our best daughters to other regions, and this leaves us with a smaller pool of marriageable girls here in Taita Taveta,” the governor noted.
Governor Mwadime’s comments highlight a broader concern about demographic and social shifts within the county, touching on cultural values and community cohesion. While the remark has sparked debate among residents, it underscores the challenges faced by local families and the need for community dialogue.
