President Ruto Hosts Kenya Police FC and Bullets FC for Breakfast at State House

In a show of support and national pride, President William Ruto on Tuesday hosted Kenya Police Football Club and Kenya Police Bullets FC for a special breakfast meeting at State House, Nairobi, to celebrate their recent sporting achievements.

Addressing the teams, President Ruto praised the players for their unwavering determination, resilience, and patriotism, noting that their excellence in football is especially commendable given the demanding nature of their policing duties.

“You have not only defended our communities with courage and commitment, but you have also raised the Kenyan flag high on the pitch. Your discipline and performance speak volumes,” said the President.

The Head of State acknowledged the leadership that has propelled the teams to success, commending the efforts of Dr. Raymond Omollo, Principal Secretary for the Ministry of Interior and team Patron; Mr. Douglas Kanja, Inspector General of Police and Deputy Patron; and Mr. Nyale Munga, Chairman and Commandant of the National Police College, Main Campus Kiganjo.

President Ruto also extended his gratitude to the Board of Management, sponsors, and development partners who continue to support police sports. He called on the private sector to increase its investment in sports, noting the potential of athletics and football to inspire youth and build national unity.

Reaffirming the government’s support, the President assured the teams of continued investment in logistics, infrastructure, and talent development. “We will ensure that your momentum is not just maintained, but accelerated,” he said.

Several senior government officials graced the occasion, including Interior Cabinet Secretary Hon. Kipchumba Murkomen; Sports Cabinet Secretary Hon. Salim Mvurya; Mining and Blue Economy Cabinet Secretary Hon. Hassan Ali Joho; and Sports Principal Secretary Hon. Elijah Mwangi.

The Inspector General of Police, Mr. Douglas Kanja, attended the event accompanied by Deputy Inspector General of the Administrative Police Service, Mr. Gilbert Masengeli, and Director of Criminal Investigations, Mr. Mohamed Amin, among other senior police commanders.

The event underscored the growing importance of sports within the disciplined services and highlighted the government’s commitment to nurturing talent within the uniformed forces.
