Moi University to Auction Animals and Vehicle in Public Sale

 




Moi University has announced plans to dispose of a range of animals and a motor vehicle through a public auction, scheduled to take place on Monday, June 24, 2025. The auction will be held at the university's farm yard, located at the main campus in Kesses, Uasin Gishu County.

In a public notice issued by the university’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Kiplagat Kotut, members of the public have been invited to view the animals and vehicle on offer starting Friday, June 20, through to Monday, June 23, ahead of the auction.

Among the animals set to go under the hammer are bulls and bull calves, which have been priced between Kshs. 50,000 and Kshs. 70,000 each. Also available for purchase are German Shepherd dogs, valued at Kshs. 40,000 each.

The auction will also feature donkeys, priced between Kshs. 9,000 and Kshs. 15,000 each, and pigs, with prices ranging from Kshs. 3,500 to Kshs. 7,000.

In addition to the animals, a Toyota Hilux vehicle will be auctioned at a reserve price of Kshs. 350,000.

The university has not disclosed the reason for the disposal, but such auctions are typically held as part of asset reorganization or routine clearance of non-essential resources.
