Hundreds Flock Webuye for Free Medical Camp Courtesy of Joseph Waswa Foundation

A massive crowd turned up at the Webuye S.A. playground on Saturday as the Joseph Waswa Foundation conducted a free medical camp, offering crucial health services and minor surgeries to residents at no cost.

The event, described by locals as a lifeline for many, drew hundreds of patients from across Bungoma and surrounding areas. Medical personnel conducted general consultations, screenings, and minor surgical procedures, with the Foundation also distributing essential medication.

Speaking during the event, Moses Wamoto, the Foundation’s coordinator, underscored the significance of such community-centered initiatives.

> “This outreach is part of our commitment to ensuring equitable access to healthcare,” said Wamoto. “We are bridging a gap that many in rural communities continue to face. Health is a basic right, not a privilege.”

Beneficiaries hailed the initiative, singling out Joseph Lendrix Waswa for his continued philanthropic efforts.

> “I’ve struggled for months without treatment. Today, I was seen by a doctor and received medication for free. This is more than charity — it’s a blessing,” said one of the patients.

The Joseph Waswa Foundation has become a household name in Western Kenya, recognized for its work in empowering vulnerable groups through healthcare drives, educational support, and economic empowerment projects.

Saturday’s event adds to the growing list of community interventions spearheaded by the Foundation. Residents called on other leaders and institutions to emulate the gesture and invest in grassroots healthcare solutions.

Organizers indicated that similar medical camps are planned for other parts of the region in the coming months.
