Saboti MP Condemns Raids on Governor Natembeya’s Homes, Calls for Accountability

Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi has issued a strong condemnation following what he termed as arbitrary and unjustified security raids on the homes of Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya in Kitale and Nairobi. The vocal legislator called the actions "draconian, archaic, and demeaning," urging law enforcement agencies to act within the bounds of the law and respect for human dignity.

Speaking at a press conference in Kitale, Amisi blasted the security operations, alleging that officers stormed the governor’s residences without producing any credible intelligence or warrants to justify the search. He warned that such “theatrics” not only violate constitutional rights but also traumatize families and children caught in the chaos.

“These theatrics of using security officers to raid people's homes without an iota of evidence are backward, draconian, archaic, and utterly demeaning to families and kids,” Amisi said. “This must stop. Before you raid a leader’s home, have proper intelligence reports. Otherwise, Kenyans may be pushed to extremes, even considering harmful measures in self-defense.”

Amisi expressed solidarity with Governor Natembeya and demanded an immediate explanation from relevant security agencies regarding the motive and legality of the raids. He cautioned that such actions, if left unchecked, could set a dangerous precedent and erode public trust in national institutions.

“I condemn in the strongest terms the arbitrary raid on Governor Natembeya’s homes,” he said. “The people of Trans Nzoia deserve answers — and we demand them now. This must stop with immediate effect.”

His remarks have drawn sharp reactions across political circles, with some leaders supporting his call for accountability, while others have urged calm and due process. As investigations continue, public pressure mounts for transparency and adherence to the rule of law in all security operations involving elected leaders.
