Ruto Halts Ukambani Tour! Major State House Meeting to Decide Region’s Future

The highly anticipated development tour of the Ukambani region by His Excellency President William Ruto has been postponed to allow for a broader consultative engagement with regional leadership.

This announcement was made by Mwala Member of Parliament, Hon. Eng. Vincent Musyoka Musau Kawaya, following a fruitful high-level meeting between the President and senior government leaders from the Ukambani region.

According to Hon. Kawaya, the consensus reached during the deliberations was that for the development tour to be truly inclusive and strategic, it is essential for President Ruto to first host a comprehensive leaders' forum that captures the aspirations of the wider Ukambani leadership.

"The President is committed to fostering unity and ensuring that the region’s development agenda is shaped by a collective and representative voice. Consequently, a larger consultative meeting at State House will take precedence," Hon. Kawaya affirmed.

The expanded leadership meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at State House, Nairobi.

Hon. Kawaya assured Ukambani residents that new dates for the development tour will be communicated shortly after the State House engagement. He emphasized that the move underscores the government’s dedication to inclusive development and structured stakeholder dialogue.
