The Kenya National Police DT SACCO has stepped up in support of the upcoming National Police Service (NPS) Track and Field Championships, demonstrating its unwavering commitment to the welfare and unity of police officers across the country.
Led by its National Chairman, David Mategwa, OGW, HSC, DSA ICUDE, the SACCO presented a sponsorship package comprising Kshs. 200,000 in cash, water worth Kshs. 100,000, and 100 branded t-shirts during a meeting with the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Douglas Kanja, MGH, CBS, OGW, at Vigilance House this afternoon.
Mategwa, accompanied by General Manager of Finance & Banking Moses Manyuanda, Marketing Manager Ann Susan Njuguna, and Marketing Officer Bill Martin, reaffirmed the SACCO’s commitment to empowering police officers beyond financial services.
“As a SACCO built by and for police officers, we are proud to support events that promote health, unity, and morale within the Service,” said Mategwa. “Our sponsorship of the Track and Field Championships is a reflection of our broader mission — to stand with our members in all aspects of life.”
The 2025 NPS Track and Field Championships are scheduled for 3rd–4th June at the Ulinzi Sports Complex. The annual event brings together top athletes from all police formations to compete, build camaraderie, and celebrate athletic excellence.
Inspector General Kanja lauded the SACCO’s timely intervention, noting that such partnerships are essential in nurturing talent and strengthening cohesion within the ranks.
“The support from Police SACCO is not only generous but deeply symbolic of the unity we aim to build through sports,” said IG Kanja.
As preparations intensify and excitement builds, the Kenya National Police DT SACCO’s contribution is expected to play a key role in ensuring the success of this year’s championship.
