Kenya is set to host more than 6,500 delegates from 40 countries during the Magical Kenya Travel Expo (MKTE) 2025, scheduled to take place in Nairobi from October 1 to 3. Themed “Sustainable Tourism Growth: Unlocking Africa’s Potential,” the premier tourism expo will spotlight intra-African collaboration, responsible travel, and transformative opportunities within the continent's tourism landscape.
Speaking on the upcoming event, Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) CEO June Chepkemei emphasized Kenya’s strategic vision to position itself as a hub for African tourism and a global leader in sustainable travel.
> “MKTE 2025 presents an extraordinary opportunity to strengthen partnerships across Africa, promote sustainable tourism, and showcase the diversity and richness of our continent. Kenya is proud to lead this conversation,” said Ms. Chepkemei.
At the heart of the expo will be discussions on building regional linkages, leveraging technology, and fostering inclusive growth, all aimed at accelerating the sector’s contribution to the African economy. The event will also serve as a platform to promote Kenya’s ambitious goal of attracting 5.5 million international visitors by 2027.
With a strong focus on sustainability, MKTE 2025 will feature exhibitions, high-level panel sessions, business-to-business meetings, and destination marketing opportunities—providing a dynamic environment for policy-makers, tourism boards, tour operators, and travel professionals.
Kenya’s hosting of MKTE 2025 reinforces its growing reputation as a leading MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) destination, offering world-class hospitality, diverse attractions, and a strong commitment to environmental stewardship.
