Former Uasin Gishu gubernatorial aspirant Zedekiah Bundotich, popularly known as Buzeki, has launched a fiery attack on corrupt politicians whom he accuses of turning public office into a gateway to amassing land and enriching themselves at the expense of ordinary Kenyans.
Speaking during a civic engagement forum in Moiben, Buzeki urged residents across the Rift Valley and the country at large to reject “land-hungry looters” who use stolen public funds to buy up land, pushing prices beyond the reach of hardworking citizens.
“Every time you vote for a corrupt leader, you're handing them a license to rob your children of their future,” Buzeki declared. “They come to you with sweet words, empty promises, and stolen cash during campaigns. Then they go back and use your taxes—CDF money, county allocations, and kickbacks—to buy every inch of land around your village.”
Buzeki warned that unless citizens rise up and vote wisely in the 2027 general elections, the next generation will become landless in their own country. He noted that land grabbing is no longer a silent problem, but a growing epidemic fueled by systemic corruption.
“The price of land is no longer determined by market forces or productivity. It's driven up by corruption. The same people who make it impossible for you to build a home or send your kids to school are the ones hoarding land for speculation and profit,” he said.
He called on youth and grassroots communities to awaken to the realities of economic sabotage through land monopolization, and to unite under a banner of accountability and equity.
“Reject these looters. If we remain silent, we will leave our children with no land, no homes, and no dignity. In 2027, let us vote wisely. Let us protect our land, protect our heritage, and protect our future,” Buzeki urged.
The former gubernatorial contender reaffirmed his commitment to transparency, land justice, and economic empowerment, vowing to continue championing policies that ensure fair land access and protect vulnerable communities from exploitation.
