In a bold push to strengthen Bungoma County’s own source revenue collection, Deputy Governor Janepher Mbatiany has rallied county officials to uphold integrity and professionalism as key pillars in achieving a revenue target of Sh300 million for the two months ending June 2025.
Speaking this morning during a revenue forum to assess and revamp internal collection systems, Mbatiany emphasized the need for transparency and ethical practices in financial operations.
“This administration is determined to plug revenue leakages and ensure every shilling due to the county is collected and utilized prudently,” she said. “Integrity is not just a virtue — it is a strategy for growth.”
Finance CECM Chrispinus Barasa echoed the Deputy Governor's sentiments, calling on the county steering team and other revenue committees to work in unity towards one purpose, achieving the said target within the two months time frame.
The county has also formed a Strategic Enhancement Team tasked with tracing and authenticating existing revenue arrears a move expected to help recover pending dues and improve trust in the system.
DG Mbatiany and the finance team urged all officers to reject corruption and embrace ethical practices, noting that sealing loopholes through integrity and professionalism is the surest path to hitting and sustaining the county’s revenue targets.
