– The government has taken a significant step towards strengthening grassroots administration following the installation of a new Assistant County Commissioner (ACC) and the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Khwisero West Divisional Headquarters in Kakamega County.

Principal Secretary for Interior Raymond Omollo presided over the installation ceremony and the groundbreaking event, which form part of the government's efforts to operationalise new administrative units and expand government services closer to the people.

The initiative is aimed at strengthening government presence at the community level, improving responsiveness to local needs and enhancing the effective administration of public affairs.

The establishment of the new divisional headquarters is expected to provide an administrative base for government officers to coordinate operations, address local concerns and improve service delivery within the division.

The event brought together senior National Government Administration Officers (NGAOs) from the Western Region, led by Regional Commissioner Allan Machari.

Also in attendance was Kakamega County Deputy Governor Ayub Savula, Woman Representative Elsie Muhanda and Khwisero Member of Parliament Christopher Aseka, who hosted the delegation.

Other legislators present included Fredrick Ikana of Shinyalu, Titus Khamala of Lurambi, Emmanuel Wangwe of Navakholo, David Ndakwa of Malava and Benard Shinali of Ikolomani.

The operationalisation of the new administrative units underscores the government's focus on decentralising administrative functions and bringing national government services closer to citizens.

Through the new facilities and deployment of administrative officers, residents are expected to benefit from improved coordination of government programmes and more accessible public administration.
