Uasin Gishu KUPPET Secretary Elijah Maiyo Joins Teachers in Celebrating Mazingira Day at AIC Tachasis Senior School

Uasin Gishu KUPPET Executive Secretary Elijah Maiyo joined teachers at AIC Tachasis Senior School in Moiben to celebrate Mazingira Day, an occasion dedicated to promoting environmental conservation and sustainable practices.

The celebration brought together teachers in recognition of the importance of protecting the environment and encouraging communities to take an active role in preserving natural resources for future generations.

Mazingira Day provides an opportunity for schools and communities to raise awareness about environmental protection, including tree planting, proper waste management and maintaining clean surroundings.

Maiyo’s participation highlighted the role of teachers and education institutions in promoting environmental responsibility among learners and the wider community.

Schools remain important centres for environmental education, helping learners understand the need to conserve forests, protect biodiversity and adopt sustainable practices in their daily lives.

The event at AIC Tachasis Senior School underscored the importance of collective action in addressing environmental challenges and building a cleaner, greener and more sustainable future for Uasin Gishu County and Kenya at large.
