Sholei Hails Ruto’s Development Tour as Moiben, Soy Receive Major Infrastructure Projects
Uasin Gishu Woman Representative and National Assembly Deputy Speaker Gladys Boss Sholei has commended President William Ruto for launching and inspecting major development projects in Moiben and Soy constituencies during his development tour of the county.
Sholei accompanied the President during the tour, which featured the launch of infrastructure and electricity connectivity projects aimed at improving service delivery and supporting economic growth in the region.
In Moiben Constituency, President Ruto launched the Kenya School of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (KSTVET) Moiben Campus, a move expected to expand access to technical training and equip young people with practical skills for employment and entrepreneurship.
The President also flagged off the KSh466 million Moiben Last Mile Electricity Connectivity Project, which is expected to extend electricity access to more households and support businesses, institutions and other economic activities in the area.
In Soy Constituency, the Head of State inspected the ongoing construction works at Ziwa Level 5 Hospital, a major healthcare project expected to strengthen access to medical services for residents of Uasin Gishu and neighbouring counties.
The President also commissioned Ziwa Dam II and launched the Sirikwa–Ziwa Machine Road, highlighting the government's ongoing investment in water infrastructure and road connectivity.
The projects are expected to contribute to improved access to healthcare, electricity, education, water and transport infrastructure, while creating opportunities for residents and businesses across the two constituencies.
In her remarks, Sholei commended President Ruto for the development initiatives being undertaken across the country, particularly projects targeting communities in Uasin Gishu County.
She said the projects would benefit local residents and contribute to the region's development through improved public services and infrastructure.
The tour forms part of the government's ongoing development activities in the North Rift region, with key investments focusing on infrastructure, education, healthcare, electricity connectivity and water supply.
Residents will be keenly watching the implementation of the projects to ensure the commitments translate into tangible improvements in their daily lives.
