MEDIHEAL CEO BREAKS SILENCE ON KIDNEY SMUGGLING CLAIMS: “THERE IS NO EVIDENCE”

 Mediheal Group of Hospitals has come out strongly to reject recent allegations linking the healthcare provider to alleged kidney smuggling, insisting that the claims are untrue, unsupported and not backed by evidence.

Mediheal Group of Hospitals CEO Mishra Kiprop Arap Chelule says  the hospital dismissed accusations suggesting that it or any of its facilities has been involved in the illegal trade of human kidneys.

Chelule said the allegations have no factual basis and that the institution strongly rejects any attempt to associate its name with kidney smuggling.

“There is no evidence demonstrating that Mediheal Group of Hospitals or any of its facilities has been involved in kidney smuggling,” Chelule said.

Mediheal Group of Hospitals operates 14 branches across Kenya and is a major healthcare provider serving patients in different parts of the country.

The CEO said the hospital remains committed to maintaining high standards of medical ethics and patient safety while complying with all applicable laws and regulations governing healthcare operations in Kenya.

The statement comes amid heightened public concern over allegations surrounding the illegal trafficking of human organs and the protection of patients undergoing medical procedures.

Mediheal maintained that allegations of such a serious nature should be supported by credible evidence and rejected claims that its facilities have participated in kidney smuggling.

The hospital's management further emphasized that patient welfare remains central to its operations and that it continues to uphold professional standards in the delivery of healthcare services.

The controversy has also reignited public debate over organ transplantation in Kenya, including the need for transparency, proper regulation and strong safeguards to protect vulnerable patients and potential organ donors.

While the allegations continue to attract public attention, Mediheal has made its position clear, maintaining that there is no evidence linking the hospital group or its facilities to kidney smuggling.
