The family of the late Doris Jeptum Murei, 45, has released an advance copy of her burial programme, with funeral arrangements now finalized by her two families.

According to a source within the family, the cortege will leave the Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) morgue on Friday, September 11, 2026, at 9:00am, beginning the journey to her home village of Tuiyo, Lemook, where she was born and raised.

A special celebration of her life will be held at Tuiyo, giving relatives, friends and members of the community an opportunity to remember and honour her life.

At 4:00pm, her remains will depart Tuiyo for Kimumu Estate on the outskirts of Eldoret City, where prayers will be held.

The cortege will thereafter proceed to Chemolingot in Tiaty, where preparations will continue ahead of her final send-off.

Doris will be laid to rest on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at her husband Nelson Kama’s farm, situated between Yatya and Chepkesin villages in Tiaty.

The programme brings together her two families as they prepare to give Doris a final farewell, with mourners expected to travel from different parts of the country to pay their last respects.

The family has invited relatives, friends and well-wishers to join them in celebrating the life and legacy of the late Doris Jeptum Murei.
