Sudi: 'Hakuna Serikali ya One-Term' as He Urges Kalonzo to Work With Ruto Ahead of 2027

Oscar Kipchumba Sudi has confidently declared that President William Samoei Ruto is on course to win a second term in office, dismissing claims that the Kenya Kwanza administration could be voted out after serving only one term.

Speaking during an address to members of the Kamba community, the outspoken Kapseret MP said it would be impossible to defeat President Ruto in the 2027 General Election, insisting that the President's political support across the country remains strong.

"Hakuna serikali ya one-term," Sudi said, maintaining that the Kenya Kwanza administration would retain power beyond 2027. He argued that those banking on a one-term presidency for Ruto were miscalculating the country's political landscape.

The legislator used the opportunity to urge the Kamba community to encourage Kalonzo Musyoka to reconsider his political strategy and work with President Ruto instead of remaining in the opposition.

According to Sudi, joining hands with the government would enable the region to benefit more from national development programmes and decision-making processes. He warned that remaining outside government could leave the community politically isolated if President Ruto secures another five-year term.

Sudi also suggested that the opposition's efforts to unseat the President would face significant challenges, expressing confidence that Ruto would once again receive a strong mandate from Kenyan voters.

His remarks come as political leaders intensify engagements across different regions of the country, with attention increasingly shifting to the 2027 General Election. Although the election is still some time away, leaders from both the ruling coalition and the opposition have stepped up political mobilization as they seek to strengthen alliances and expand their support bases.

Kalonzo, who has positioned himself as one of the leading opposition figures, has repeatedly maintained that he will continue working with like-minded leaders to challenge the Kenya Kwanza administration in the next election. However, Sudi's latest remarks underscore the ruling coalition's confidence that President Ruto will successfully defend his seat and secure a second and final constitutional term in office.
