Wiper Patriotic Front (WPF) leader and United Opposition Co-Principal Kalonzo Musyoka has intensified his 2027 presidential campaign, promising to usher in what he described as a new era of honest, accountable and people-centered leadership.

In a strongly worded message directed at Kenyans, Kalonzo said the country had reached a point where citizens were tired of being remembered only during election periods, accusing political leaders of relying on handouts, broken promises and the misuse of public resources to win support.

"The time for honest leadership is now," Kalonzo declared, positioning himself as a leader capable of restoring public confidence in government.

The former Vice President said Kenyans deserve a government that serves citizens consistently rather than one driven by political expediency.

"Wazalendo wenzangu, Kenyans are tired of being remembered only at election time. They want a government that serves them every day—not one built on handouts, empty promises and the misuse of public resources for political gain," he said.

Kalonzo assured supporters that his administration, if elected in the 2027 General Election, would prioritize integrity, accountability and equitable development across the country.

"I have heard you and I give you my word: this will not happen again," he stated.

Using the campaign slogan #WeAre20MillionStrong, the opposition leader called on Kenyans to rally behind what he described as a movement aimed at rebuilding public institutions and restoring confidence in leadership.

"Together, we will build a nation founded on integrity, accountability and fairness, where every region gets its fair share of development, and every Kenyan is treated with the dignity they deserve," Kalonzo said.

The WPF leader also invoked his record in government, pointing to his tenure in the coalition administration led by former President Mwai Kibaki, which he credited with steering Kenya through a period of economic growth and political stability.

"I have done this before. Together with President Mwai Kibaki, I helped lead Kenya through a season of stability, growth and shared prosperity. I am ready to do it again," he said.

Kalonzo pledged to restore trust in public institutions, strengthen governance systems and ensure service delivery takes precedence over political interests.

"Together, we will restore trust in leadership, strengthen our institutions and put service before politics," he added.

His latest remarks come as political leaders continue positioning themselves ahead of the 2027 General Election, with both the Kenya Kwanza administration and the opposition stepping up nationwide mobilization campaigns.

The United Opposition has been mounting pressure on the government over the high cost of living, governance, public debt and service delivery, while presenting itself as a viable alternative to President William Ruto's administration.

Kalonzo concluded his message by urging Kenyans to join his political movement and support his campaign agenda, saying the country stands at a critical moment that requires principled leadership.

"The time for honest leadership is now. Together, tuko Komboa Kenya," he said.
