Kacheliba MP Calls for Urgent Security Crackdown After Cattle Theft Incidents

Kacheliba Member of Parliament Hon. Titus Lotee has called on the Government to urgently strengthen security operations in Takaywa and Ombolion following recent cattle theft incidents that have left several families counting losses.

The legislator urged security agencies to intensify operations in the affected areas and undertake a comprehensive disarmament exercise aimed at removing illegal firearms from the hands of criminals, saying the proliferation of illicit weapons continues to fuel banditry and livestock theft.

Hon. Lotee also called for the swift arrest and prosecution of those responsible for the attacks and appealed to security agencies to make every effort to recover the stolen livestock.

He further urged the Government to compensate the affected families, noting that many depend on livestock as their primary source of livelihood and have suffered significant economic setbacks.

"The safety and security of our people must remain a top priority. Lasting peace can only be achieved through decisive action against banditry and the proliferation of illegal firearms," the MP said.

He reaffirmed his commitment to working with the national government, security agencies and local leaders to support efforts aimed at restoring peace, protecting lives and securing livelihoods across Kacheliba Constituency.
