Kabete MP James Wamacukuru Accelerates Road Upgrades Across Constituency to Improve Connectivity and Boost Local Economy
Kabete Member of Parliament James Wamacukuru has reaffirmed his commitment to expanding infrastructure across the constituency, with multiple road projects progressing simultaneously to enhance mobility, support businesses, and improve access to markets.
The legislator said the ongoing works reflect his pledge to ensure every ward benefits from quality infrastructure that drives economic growth and improves the daily lives of residents.
Among the projects currently underway is the second phase of cabro paving on Gathangi Road in Gikuni, Gitaru Ward, a development expected to eliminate dust and improve accessibility for residents and motorists.
Construction is also advancing steadily along Biashara Street in Mutego Estate, where road improvement works are expected to enhance transport and create a more conducive environment for businesses operating in the area.
In Nyathuna Ward, heavy machinery has been deployed on Kihururu Road, where excavation, grading, and road strengthening works are ongoing. Wamacukuru noted that the upgraded road will significantly improve the transportation of horticultural produce to Wangige and Nairobi markets, reducing travel time and post-harvest losses while increasing farmers' earnings.
Meanwhile, grading and compaction works are in progress on the Kwa Henry–Kamoriani–Githunguri Gia Gichamu Road, a project aimed at opening up the area and improving access for residents.
Wamacukuru said the comprehensive road improvement programme, which includes cabro paving, murram upgrading, and tarmacking, is transforming transport infrastructure across Kabete and laying the foundation for sustained economic development.
"Good roads are a catalyst for development. They reduce transport costs, improve access to markets, stimulate business activity, and enhance the safety and convenience of our people. We remain committed to delivering infrastructure that creates lasting value for every resident of Kabete," he said.
The MP reiterated that his development agenda is anchored on service delivery, accountability, and equitable distribution of projects to ensure every part of Kabete benefits from improved public infrastructure.
