Eldoret Stakeholders Approve CBD Beautification Project, Back Completion of Stadium 64

Residents, business owners and key stakeholders have unanimously endorsed the proposed Eldoret Central Business District (CBD) Beautification and Frontage Improvement Project during a public participation forum held at the Eldoret Social Hall.

The forum, led by Eldoret City Manager Ms. Elzeba Busienei, provided stakeholders with an opportunity to review the proposed developments, the Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA), implementation plans and the anticipated benefits of the project, which will be implemented under the Kenya Urban Support Programme II (KUSP II).

Participants also threw their weight behind the completion of Stadium 64, describing it as a transformative project that will promote sports, create employment opportunities, stimulate local businesses and strengthen community development.

Speaking during the forum, Ms. Busienei urged residents to embrace the planned transformation and support the county government's vision of making Eldoret a modern, clean and investor-friendly city.

She said the project is in line with Governor Dr. Jonathan Bii Chelilim's agenda of transforming Eldoret into a smart, green and world-class city through improved infrastructure and sustainable urban development.

Stakeholders noted that the proposed facelift of the CBD will enhance the city's attractiveness, improve the business environment and create a more conducive space for residents, visitors and investors.

The endorsement marks a significant milestone in the implementation of the project, with the county government expected to move to the next phase under the Kenya Urban Support Programme II following the successful public participation exercise.
