UDA Expands Grassroots Network in Vihiga as New Hamisi Offices Open

The United Democratic Alliance (UDA) has stepped up its grassroots mobilisation efforts in Vihiga County following the official opening of new party offices in Hamisi Sub-County.

The offices, located at the Hamisi Sub-County Headquarters, Virembe (Hamisi Central Sub-Branch), and Muhudu, are expected to enhance engagement between party leaders and members while strengthening the party's presence in the region.

The launch ceremony brought together party leaders, supporters, and residents from various parts of Hamisi Constituency, signaling UDA's renewed push to consolidate support at the grassroots level.

Hamisi Member of Parliament Charles Gimose described the opening of the offices as a significant milestone in strengthening the party's structures and improving service delivery to members.

"This marks an important step in bringing party services closer to the people and strengthening our structures at the grassroots. The offices will provide a platform for engagement between leaders and members while enhancing the party's ability to serve communities effectively," said Gimose.

According to the legislator, the new offices will coordinate party activities, facilitate membership recruitment and mobilisation, disseminate information, and support the implementation of the party's development agenda.

The event was also attended by Emuhaya Member of Parliament Omboko Milemba, local leaders, and party officials, who urged residents to embrace unity and actively participate in political and development initiatives.

Political analysts note that strong grassroots structures enable political parties to remain connected with voters beyond election periods. Such offices also offer members a platform to raise concerns, receive civic education, and participate in party affairs.

Under the Political Parties Act, registered political parties are encouraged to establish structures across the country to promote internal democracy and enhance citizen participation.

Residents welcomed the opening of the offices, expressing optimism that they would improve communication between party leaders and members while creating opportunities for greater community involvement.

"These offices will strengthen communication between leaders and wananchi and ensure members are actively involved in the party's programmes," Gimose added.

UDA leaders called on residents to remain united and support initiatives aimed at improving livelihoods and accelerating development. They reaffirmed the party's commitment to empowering communities and strengthening grassroots leadership under its slogan, "Kazi ni Kazi."
