Mutego Road Tarmacking Unlocks New Chapter for Dagoretti South
For decades, the development of Mutego Road remained stalled due to a longstanding land dispute involving Lenana School and Kenya Railways, denying residents and businesses the benefits of a modern road network.
That chapter has now come to an end.
Through sustained engagement and collaboration, the impasse has been resolved, paving the way for the successful tarmacking of the strategic road linking Ngong Road to Mutego, Mutuini and onward to Dagoretti (Ndũnyũ) Market.
The newly completed road is set to transform mobility across Dagoretti South by improving connectivity, reducing travel time and facilitating the efficient movement of people, goods and services. Residents, traders and thousands of daily road users now have access to a reliable transport corridor that will stimulate local commerce, enhance access to essential services and improve the overall quality of life.
The project also strengthens the area's infrastructure network, opening up economic opportunities while supporting safer and more efficient transport within the constituency.
Member of Parliament for Dagoretti South, **Hon. John Kiarie (K.J.)**, hailed the completion of the project as a long-awaited milestone and a legacy investment that addresses a challenge which had persisted for decades. The successful delivery of the road reflects the power of collaborative leadership in resolving complex issues and advancing development that directly benefits wananchi.
With the completion of the Mutego Road upgrade, Dagoretti South continues to witness tangible infrastructure improvements that lay a strong foundation for inclusive growth, economic empowerment and sustainable urban development.
