"I Will Deal with You Politically!" Oscar Sudi Fires Back at Alfred Mutai After Kuresoi North Empowerment Event Turns Violent
The political landscape within the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) party has erupted into an aggressive proxy war following a violent clash in Nakuru County that left three people nursing gunshot wounds.
A furious Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has vowed to "deal with Kuresoi North MP Alfred Mutai politically," accusing the local lawmaker of attempting to sabotage a massive economic empowerment forum. The war of words marks a severe escalation in the battle for political control over the Rift Valley electorate.
Bloodshed at the Empowerment Rally
The chaos erupted during a high-profile youth and women empowerment drive spearheaded by Sudi, who led a heavy delegation of external lawmakers into Kuresoi North. Allies of Sudi framed the event as an essential development initiative aimed at uplifting the grassroots economy. However, local leaders viewed the intrusion as a direct threat to their political autonomy.
According to eyewitnesses, rowdy youths—allegedly mobilized by a faction loyal to area MP Alfred Mutai—stormed the venue to disrupt the proceedings. The confrontation quickly turned chaotic as the rival groups clashed, forcing security personnel to fire live ammunition into the air to restore order. Amid the panic and stampede, three individuals were shot and rushed to local health facilities for emergency treatment.
"Your Politics are Primitive"—Sudi Mercilessly Descends on Mutai
Speaking shortly after the violent disruption, a visibly angry Oscar Sudi did not mince his words, launching a scathing attack on Mutai for putting local citizens in harm's way over insecure political realignments.
"You cannot play primitive politics with the lives and livelihoods of your own constituents," Sudi warned directly. "If you are afraid of development and leadership, step aside. Trying to scuttle an empowerment forum because of cheap local realignments is unacceptable. I am telling you here and now: I will deal with you politically. Your time is up."
Sudi further alleged that Mutai is terrified of losing his political grip on the constituency. The Kapseret legislator has actively mobilized political rallies across Nakuru County—including recent events in Salgaa and Olenguruone—in an aggressive push to consolidate regional support for Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika’s re-election machinery.
The Broader Nakuru Political Rift
The public fallout exposes a fracturing front within President William Ruto’s ruling party. MP Alfred Mutai, alongside Nakuru Woman Representative Liza Chelule, has fiercely hit back at Sudi, accusing him of political bullying, cross-border interference, and "behaving as though he was elected in two constituencies."
Mutai maintains that Nakuru residents must be allowed to make independent political choices without outside heavyweights forcing external agendas down their throats. However, with three people hospitalized and Sudi drawing a definitive line in the sand, the battle lines in Kuresoi North are officially drawn for a grueling political showdown.
