Ang’ata Barikoi Bloodshed Sparks National Concern as Gideon Moi Calls for Justice and Calm

Former Baringo Senator and KANU National Chairman, Gideon Moi, has condemned the latest violence in Ang’ata Barikoi, Kilgoris Constituency, following deadly clashes that left several people dead, others injured, and property destroyed.

In a statement released on Thursday, Moi described the recurring unrest in the area as a sign of a “worrying breakdown in law and order” and called for urgent intervention to prevent further loss of life.

The KANU chairman urged residents to reject violence as a means of expressing grievances while also calling on security agencies to act with restraint and humanity as they work to restore order.

“No cause, however legitimate, can justify the loss of innocent lives or the destruction of property,” Moi said.

His remarks come amid growing national concern over the recurring tensions in Ang’ata Barikoi, where disputes have repeatedly escalated into violent confrontations, disrupting livelihoods and threatening peace in the region.

Moi emphasized the need for all parties to uphold the rule of law and commit to addressing the root causes of the conflict rather than allowing the cycle of violence to continue.

He further noted that the people of Ang’ata Barikoi deserve justice, security, and a lasting solution to the issues fueling the unrest.

The latest clashes have renewed calls for dialogue, accountability, and a comprehensive resolution to prevent future confrontations in the troubled area as leaders across the political divide continue to weigh in on the crisis.
